About Reflexology

Reflexology is a powerful non-invasive complementary health therapy that encourages the body to restore its own natural balance and aid healing by inducing you into a deep state of relaxation. It is based on the principle that our feet, hands, face or ears are made up of zones and thousands of reflex points that are linked to different organs, glands and body systems through the nervous system. In Reflexology these reflex points are gently manipulated by the hands using many different techniques helping the subtle energies of the nervous system enter the mind, body and soul, encouraging all of the body systems into a state of calm.

Preventative health care is now so important as we realise the health threatening dangers our lives can bring, putting added strain on our immune systems, which can only work to its full potential when you are able to manage the stresses of everyday life. It is only when the body and mind are in balance that you can start living your ‘best’ life!

Reflexology provides you with a genuine holistic therapeutic treatment, looking at the whole person to help find the root cause of the issue as opposed to only easing the symptoms. It is one that doesn’t just promote deep relaxation but also stimulates the body’s own natural healing capacities by helping the opening up of the neural pathways, thereby having the potential to help reduce the severe symptoms of many conditions.

I understand that no client is the same, which is why I take care to learn about you and what you want to get out of reflexology ahead of coming up with a personalised treatment plan on how I can best support you. I have studied many specialist routines such as NEPIP (NeuroEndoPsycoImmunoPody). This is a routine only taught to level five students and works on the relationship between our brain and nervous system and their direct relationship with the endocrine system which in turn affects our health via the immune system. Other specialist routines I have studied include Lymphatic Drainage massage techniques, Endocrine Balance (ideal for helping calm down the symptoms of menopause), the CALM technique to help bring the nervous system back into a state of balance, ideal for those suffering from stress/anxiety etc as well as many more. So this is your time to unwind, take the weight off your feet, let go of any stress and enjoy some precious quiet ‘me time’ in a peaceful ‘safe space’ – all necessary to aid and support your general wellbeing.

I have had the pleasure of helping many people with many different conditions, examples of which include IBS, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, back problems, restless leg syndrome, Bells Palsy, Plantar Fasciitis, insomnia, sinusitis, migraines, menopausal symptoms, sciatica, anxiety, depression... the list goes on. So whether you live with an acute or chronic condition, lack a sense of general well-being both physically and/or mentally and emotionally I am here to help. Get in touch today to receive one of my 5 star treatments and take the first steps to enable you to live the life you deserve and live it to its full potential!

What Happens During a Reflexology Treatment?

I will welcome you into my tranquil and relaxing treatment room, where I will talk through what the treatment involves, how reflexology works, and get to know a bit about you by filling in a detailed consultation form where I ask for information about your medical history, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep patterns, exercise, stress levels, etc. This information will allow me to compile a treatment plan specific to your individual needs.

Once the initial consultation has finished and all contraindications have been checked, you will be invited to get comfortable on my electric reclining couch (an electric heated blanket is available for added comfort). There is no need to remove clothes unless, in the case of foot reflexology, shoes and socks need to be removed.

If foot reflexology is your chosen treatment I then bathe your feet in hot towels soaked in therapeutic natural oils to promote relaxation and good circulation which helps aid the treatment.

The treatment will then begin and involves me applying gentle pressure to specific parts of your feet, hands, or face using specialised techniques that I apply with my thumbs, fingers and hands. Once the treatment has finished, I shall provide feedback on the session’s findings (should you wish), offer support and aftercare tips, answer any questions, and agree with you a bespoke plan for going forward should you wish to rebook.

How many sessions do you need?

This may vary depending on your conditions and state of health, however 4-6 treatments are recommended initially for optimum recovery.

Please note that only ethically sourced luxurious organic oils are used in treatments. Should you have any allergies to any specific fragrance and/or oil please let me know.

Please note that confidentiality is always adhered to and your personal details are always kept locked away. I strictly abide by the General Protection Data Regulations. I am DBS checked and I am a fully insured member of the Association of Reflexologists (MAR).

I keep up to date with and follow all COVID-19 precautions.
